Job Description for Customer Engineer, Google Cloud:
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in virtualization or cloud native architectures in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience delivering technical presentations while leading discovery and planning sessions that are aligned with the customer’s defined scope and success criteria.
- Experience engaging with C-level or senior business leaders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Relational Databases, NoSQL Databases, or Big Data technologies.
- Experience in advanced areas of networking, including Linux, software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, virtual private networks and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.
- Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable and secure distributed systems.
- Experience with containers and associated technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Serverless, and Microservices.
- Experience in understanding a complex customer’s existing software workloads and the ability to define a technical migration road map to the cloud reflecting specific customer needs.
Job Responsibilities for Customer Engineer, Google Cloud at Google:
- Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, key customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
- Manage the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including managing product and solution briefings, and proof-of-concept work.
- Guide customers through assessments of existing legacy application environments, provide recommendations on a road map for application modernization.
- Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.
