We are looking to hire a top-notch developer to work on developing platform, infrastructure & continuous delivery tools. The systems you’ll be building will be the backbone of Verizon Media’s infrastructure for many years to come. We expect skills and experience that match. Expertise in any given language is less important than a willingness to learn and to put the team before yourself. You will work with other developers, product owners, scrum masters, designers, and architects to deliver high-value features to internal customers.
Our software is written in Node.js, Java, Golang, Ruby, and Ember. We run in both private and public clouds (AWS) and rely heavily on technologies such as Chef, Kubernetes and Docker.
Responsibilities
- Build winning software and services using cutting edge open-source technology
- Engage with teams to define requirements/interfaces/implementation approaches
- Identify infrastructure needs patterns
- Exercise agile development methodologies to create platform services and features
- Collaborate with other engineers to write testable, reliable code, continuously deploying to production systems
- Build large-scale distributed systems that balance resources, constraints, requirements, and complexity
Required Qualifications
- Strong background in full stack web application development (Golang, Java, Node.js, Python), Javascript frameworks such as react.js/ember.js, css and experience implementing Web Services (REST API)
- Experience with container and cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS.
- Experience in object-oriented programming and design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent or MS preferred
